Born into a very impoverished middle-class family in a tea garden, Mr. Agarwalla has never felt oppressed because of his parents’ unconditional love. He did his schooling in a small village in Nakachari, in the Jor- hat district of Assam, and pursued his graduation in Mathematics from JB College, Jorhat. He completed his post-graduation in Mathematics from Dibrugarh University in 1985 and later on pursued a Computer Diploma from Birla Institute of Technology, Mumbai in 1986.
Mr. Agarwalla is a determined and self-motivated person who opted to study computers at a time when there was not a single computer institute in the entire North East. He is such a visionary that he could envision a time when computers would rule the world. His curiosity drove him to learn how to use a computer. He could not have been the IT leader today unless he dared to do so and pursue this as his career. That was a major turning point in his career.
With his vision and dedication, Mr. Agarwalla start- ed the Datamation business empire, which now has 300+ passionate employees and 1 million+ satisfied clients having an annual revenue exceeding about 250 crores+. Moreover, he says that Datamation services believe in supporting and ensuring that every custom- er gets the right product at the right place.
Under his leadership, the team members of Datamation are provided with the opportunity to learn and earn simultaneously. He has been serving the people of the Northeast in the field of IT for the last three dec- ades. Regardless of the fact that he passed his 10th exam without electricity at home, he is now the person who sells the latest gadgets such as the iPhone, mobile, laptops, smartphones, and so on to every nook and corner of North East as well as top businessmen and so on. Due to his courage and quick decision making quality, Mr. Agarwalla is now a leading supplier of all the top IT brands like HP, Canon, Sony, etc. in the North Eastern region.
Mr. Agarwalla and his company have received over 200 awards from various associations, companies, and media. He has also travelled to more than 60 countries at the invitation of the world’s leading IT companies. Besides being an entrepreneur, Mr. Agarawalla also served as the President of the Computer Association of NE for five years. He was also elected as the President of NECTA (North-east Computer Traders’ Asso- ciation) with a resounding victory in recent year and also associated with the Lions Club of Assam. He has had the good fortune to receive numerous invitations from Assamese electronic media outlets to attend their motivational talk shows, as well as invitations from other esteemed institutions and organisations in the region to deliver motivational speeches for the younger generation and educate them on how to be- come successful entrepreneurs.
Apart from this, Mr. Agarwalla is also a physically active person who enjoys listening to music, reading books, and gardening in his free time.
