Bharat Gaurav Nareshpuri Ji Maharaj - Mehendipur Balaji Trust

Mahant Shri Naresh Puri Maharaj was born in the village of Udaipura (Dausa) Rajasthan. Due to the family rituals and the religious tendency of the parents, Maharaj Shri's trend turned towards reading devotional religious literature and devotional music. His mother passed away when he was very young.  Mahant Shree Nareshpuri Maharaj, who had a very religious nature and strong personality, took Guru Deeksha from his Gurudev, Mahant Shree Kishore Puri Maharaj Maharaj, and it was in the company of respected Gurudev that he developed spirituality in his life. At the same time, he got engaged in the service worship of Lord Shri Ram and Shri Balaji Maharaj. Due to his special interest in devotion to the Lord, Maharaj Shri Naresh Puri, at a very young age, dedicated himself to the virtue of serving his Shri Balaji Maharaj and determined the purpose of his life to be devotion to the Lord, service worship and welfare of the people.

 Shri Nareshpuri Maharaj has been doing service, worship, and public welfare work of Shri Balaji Maharaj for the last 42 years. Maharaj Shri Naresh Puri got conducted and completed very well all the works by the trust. The level at which Mehandipur Shri Balaji Maharaj Ghata Mehandipur Trust is functioning today, the entire credit goes to Maharaj Shri Naresh Puri.

 

With the visionary thinking of Maharaj Shri Nareshpuri, facilities like cleanliness, fire-fighting facility, toilet and drinking water arrangement in the temple and its surrounding areas, and distribution of daily lunch to all the pilgrims in the temple premises are also done by the trust itself. Apart from this, another college has been started by the trust itself for the computer course PGDCA program. Apart from free Sanskrit education, an incentive amount of Rs 1000 has also been started for the promotion of Vedic culture. Renovation of all schools and colleges with modern computer labs in PG college, library, and other facilities are enriched. In addition to this, day scholars of primary school have started giving food facilities and scholarships for Vedic education.

Modernization of the Sawmani process with food packing, renovation of the temple including renovation of Aarti hall with a modern inquiry office with 24 hours call center for the convenience of devotees, queue and crowd management, are other notable works carried out under the guidance of Maharaj Shri Nareshpuri. The building has been made earthquake-proof and equipped with air-conditioned modern facilities. The railing has been arranged in a systematic way in a 10000 square feet area near the temple for the smooth operation of all the devotees coming in huge groups to visit the temple. An air-conditioned waiting room with 200 chairs has been constructed for the passengers and devotees to sit, as a result of which the devotees can sit to receive the Prasad of Savamani.

Mahant Shri Naresh Puri Maharaj is making unprecedented contributions in the field of education, medicine, cow service, social service, and spirituality. He has always had special attention to education and health. Along with this, many works are being done by Maharaj to take eternal religion and culture to the masses. During the global pandemic Covid 19, many works were done by the Trust for the benefit of public welfare, under which the Trust has played an advanced role in public welfare by providing financial support to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Along with this, hundreds of packets of prepared food were distributed daily in three districts with the help of the administration for the needy laborers and the poor. In addition to this, free oxygen concentrators were made available in the district hospitals by Maharaj Shri Naresh Puri Maharaj during the difficult time of corona pandemic so that the availability of oxygen could be ensured.

Recently Maharaj Shree successfully completed the seven-day festival of the consecration of Shri Radhakrishna's deity, the main attraction of which was Shrimad Bhagwat Gyan Saptah, 11 lacks Brahma Gayatri Jaap, Bhajan Sandhya, flower showers from a helicopter, Huge Kalash Yatra, the consecration of Mahayogeshwar's Deity in the presence of saints from India and abroad and a grand celebration of more than one lakh people.


Bharat Gaurav Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal - Writer & Politician

Ramesh Pokhriyal is a renowned Indian author, born in 1959 in the scenic state of Uttarakhand, known for its natural beauty. Since his childhood, he had a passion for writing poems and stories, which led him to publish his first book, "Samarpan," in 1983. He has authored over 100 books on various topics such as travel, tourism, culture, and religion. His pen name, "Nishank," is well-known among readers worldwide, as his books have been translated into several languages, including English, German, Spanish, Telugu, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannad, Urdu, Farsi, Marathi, Konkan, and Rajasthani.

Pokhriyal's contribution to Indian literature has been recognized by several dignitaries, including Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, and Mr. Pranav Mukhrjee. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including the "Vatyan Lifetime Achievement Award" in the United Kingdom, the "International Global Galaxy Award" in Germany, the "Sahitya Gaurav Samman" in Canada, the "Mauritius Award" by the President of Mauritius, the "Himal Gaurav Samman" in Nepal, the "Environment Conservation Award" in Poland, and the "Sahitya Bharti" award by the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He has also received the highest recognition in the world of literature, the "International Ajay Swarn Padak."

Apart from being an acclaimed author, Pokhriyal is also an Indian politician. He was appointed as the Minister of Human Resource Development on 31 May 2019, which was later renamed as the Minister of Education in July 2020. He represents the Haridwar Parliamentary constituency of Uttarakhand in the 17th Lok Sabha. Previously, he served as the 5th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2009 to 2011 and was a member of the 16th Lok Sabha, where he chaired the Committee on Government Assurances.

Pokhriyal is married to Kusum Kanta Pokhriyal, whom he married on 7 May 1985. The couple has three daughters, one of whom, Aarushi Nishank, is a classical dancer. With his impressive achievements in both literature and politics, Pokhriyal continues to be an inspiration to many in India and beyond.

Bharat Gaurav Mrs. Meghna Sakore Bordikar - Social Worker Maharashtra, India

Mrs. Meghna Sakore Bordikar is the MLA for the Jintur constituency in the Parbhani district of Marathwada, Maharashtra. She is an entrepreneur and also serves as a member of the Panchayat Raj Committee of Maharashtra state. In addition, she's a director of the PDCC Bank (Parbhani). She entered the public sphere at the age of 28, only after giving quality time to her 2 children currently studying in London because, for her, family always comes first.

 

Meghna ji has a Masters's Degree in International Studies from DY Patil University (Pune) & has carried out various social work initiatives in the Parbhani district. These include promoting water & environmental conversation, creating employment programs for women & youth, providing education to underprivileged children & running liquor de-addiction & rehabilitation programs, and steering Parbhani towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Prakash Krishnan, MD, is a world-renowned expert in peripheral vascular disease and is internationally recognized as a leader in the catheter-based treatment of peripheral arterial disease. Dr. Krishnan’s expertise includes nonsurgical treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular diseases, including coronary stents, peripheral vascular angioplasty and stents, atherectomy, carotid stents, renal stents, renal denervation, and complex venous disease intervention.  Dr. Krishnan is a patient advocate and an educator. He has built a robust community-based outreach program that serves a vast population of patients with complex coronary and peripheral arterial disease. He also serves as the Director of the Endovascular Intervention Fellowship in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and has been educating interventionalists globally via live satellite transmissions at national and international meetings and with the monthly webcasts showcased on www.ccclivecases.org. He served as the co-national primary investigator in the ILLUMINATE Trial and is a leading authority in the performance of non-surgical interventions for peripheral arterial disease. He has received numerous awards and honors, most recently the Reverend.

Dr. Martin Luther King Legacy Award for Physician Services from Clergy with a Purpose. He has also served as editor of numerous textbooks on endovascular interventions and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is co-director of the annual LINC Mount Sinai conference.

Dr. Krishnan is an internationally established leader in education. He has been both innovative and progressive and recognized the opportunity to reach thousands of physicians to help advance the understanding of techniques in the interventional treatment of peripheral arterial disease.

In 2012, Dr. Krishnan began to broadcast monthly Peripheral Interventions Live via CCC Live Cases, which has over 25,000 views per month in 179 countries.

As a master educator, Dr. Krishnan started the Endovascular Fellowship program at Mount Sinai Heart in 2013. He was recognized with the Distinguished Teaching Award by the Interventional Fellows in June 2017, providing incomparable education in the field of peripheral arterial disease. The following year, he received the Mentorship in Endovascular Interventions Award from the Mount Sinai Interventional Cardiology Fellows. In 2018, he was nationally recognized by being named Co-Director of the annual Endovascular Fellows Course by SCAI (Society of Angiography and Interventions). Bharat Gaurav Dr. Archana Sharma - Scientist at CERN Geneva, Switzerland


Recently honored with the highest civilian award for Indians living abroad, by the Government of India, the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman, Dr. Archana Sharma is a Principal Staff Scientist at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland active in the field since 1989 in high energy physics. A Ph.D. from Delhi University in 1989, a D.Sc. from the University of Geneva in 1996, and an MBA from the International University in Geneva Archana has worked at CERN experiments on R&D and commissioning of large-scale radiation detectors.

She is the founder and Project Manager of CMS GEM Collaboration since 2008, bringing a new technology GEM (Gas Electron Multiplier) - for exploiting one of the most sensitive detectors with the highest discovery potential. The GEM project spanned about 40 institutions in 17 countries yielding over 75 PhDs under her leadership. Archana also serves as Senior Advisor for Relations with International Organisations at CERN, in support of CERN's objective of integrating and highlighting fundamental research towards Science Diplomacy, and Sustained Development Goals.

Dr. Sharma is Head of the Engagement Office for the ‘Compact Muon Solenoid’ Experiment at CERN which connects her with a collaboration spanning 57 countries and about 250 institutions.

She has collaborated with events at the ILO Geneva and World Communication Forum Davos as a spokesperson for diversity and excellence in scientific communication. She is also well known for her relentless efforts in mentoring young students particularly girls in STEM, via her NGO based in New Delhi. Bharat Gaurav Dr. Sundeep Jain - Founder Abdonminal Cancer Day

Dr. Sundeep Jain is well-qualified and trained in the field of gastrointestinal and hepatic-pancreatic-biliary surgery. He is a reputed authority in his field in the region of Rajasthan state in India and is presently working as the Director & Head, of the Department of Gastrointestinal, GI cancers, HPB & Bariatric Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Jaipur, India.

Dr. Jain’s medical education started in the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan from where he graduated. To pursue his passion for surgery he was admitted to the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for postgraduation (MS). Further, he cleared one of the most competitive entrance exams to get into the postdoctoral course (MCh) in gastrointestinal surgery (the highest degree in this specialty in India) from GB Pant Institute of postgraduate medical education and Research, New Delhi, India. Later, he did an honorary fellowship in HPB / Liver transplant surgery from King’s College Hospital London, UK. Dr. Jain was awarded MRCS (Membership of Royal College of Surgeons) in Edinburgh, UK.

In his experience of around 20 years, he has managed all kinds of diseases of the digestive tract including cancers with complicated operations with the results matching the best figures globally. Dr. Jain has helped thousands of patients from different parts of India and abroad like Australia, Belgium, the UK, the USA, Bangladesh, Dubai, and Muscat, with his knowledge and skillful surgeries.

Dr. Jain has been instrumental in developing gastrointestinal surgery and has done many complicated operations successfully for the first time in the state of Rajasthan. He is the only surgeon who is an expert in doing HIPEC surgery for last-stage GI cancers in the whole state of Rajasthan. He offers surgical treatment with the best possible outcomes with minimum complication and death rates.

He has contributed to the academic and research aspects of science. In his initial days in post-graduation, he performed research on the anti-tubercular effect of garlic and found promising results. This paper was later published in a national journal. He has developed new techniques for liver surgery and shunt operation which were published in an international journal. Working as the principal Investigator he has conducted many studies and got more than 25 publications on various aspects including pancreatic cancer in journals of national and international repute. He has been a tutor for Masters in surgical sciences program at the University of Edinburgh.

To present his pioneer work on liver and pancreatic surgery, Dr. Jain was invited to the World Congress of Digestive Diseases in Nanjing, China in 2015 and the International Conference on Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Disorders in Philadelphia, USA in 2018. He has been actively involved in the medical education and training of surgeons in the form of lectures and operative workshops at various medical conferences.

Dr. Sundeep Jain was conferred with the “Rajasthan Gaurav Award” by the Governor of Rajasthan His Excellency Shri Kalraj Mishra in February 2022 for excellence in the field of abdominal cancer surgery and for founding abdominal cancer day for creating awareness in the society.

Various professional, scientific, and social organizations in India have honored him and recognized his contributions. He has been awarded the best paper at scientific conferences, the young achiever award by Indian Medical Association, the Best clinical support by Fortis Hospital, Jaipur, a Certificate of Excellence in GI surgery, and the Doctor’s Day award, among many others.

He has been a big proponent of public awareness of health aspects especially those related to the abdomen. Dr. Jain has always been very concerned when it comes to the dismal outcome of abdominal cancers due to the late presentation of these patients to the doctor. To address this problem, he founded “Abdominal Cancer Day” on 19th May 2019, for the first time in the world to create awareness about the prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of these cancers. This is being observed annually for the social cause through the charitable “Abdominal Cancer Trust” with the aim of creating awareness focusing on the early detection, treatment, and prevention of various types of abdominal cancers.

In the last five years since 2019, many awareness programs in the form of public presentations, and lectures in various academic institutes, colleges, and schools were held every month and year. The reach of this awareness drive is constantly rising from just 700 people in 2019 to over one crore people in 2022.

In recognition of his work, he was invited by a UK-based organization called “Arogyam” to educate people in their country via weekly online sessions. Many activities are also organized for this purpose like cycling, walkathon, marathon, talk shows with the experts, and write-ups in media publications and social media.

Dr. Jain is involved in many activities at the hospital and state levels for the improvement of the quality of patient care, especially in surgical specialties.

Dr. Jain is involved in voluntary and charity work in the form of offering services for patient treatment in clinics and hospitals in various cities and districts of his state. In these activities, he gives free consultations, treatment, and operations for underprivileged members of society. He is involved in community-based programs to highlight the preventive methods for gastrointestinal cancers.

His personal interests and hobbies include debates, oil painting, drama, and singing and he has won best debater, painter, and actor awards at the college, state, and National levels. He is a regular in long walks and cycling with his personal best of 240 KMs of cycling in two days.


Bharat Gaurav Jagir Singh Bains - Former Army Officer USA

Jagir Singh Bains hails from the Hoshiarpur District of Punjab (India) by birth and now firmly settled in Queens Borough, New York for the past 45 years. He is past 87 years of age and still looks like an able-bodied 6 feet high, stout, sturdy recent retiree from Army; of course, he served in the Indian Army in the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from 1950 to 1969. He is also a decorated veteran of India for serving two wars in 1961 and 1965. He served in the Zambian Army as well during the period 1969 - 1974.

Soon after immigrating to America, he joined the United States Postal Service Department in the Vehicle Parts Supplies Section in New York where Mr. Bains rose to become the Vehicle Supplies Supervisor of the Tri-Boro area of New York. During his spotless service career in Federal Government. Mr. Bains has been awarded and rewarded many a time officially and publically. He was awarded Vice President Eagle Award U.S.P.S. in 2000, the Supervisor of the Year Award (National) in 2001, was Nominated for Technology Maintenance Council Award in 2001, and was finally bestowed with M V P Award in 2002.

Mr. Jagir S. Bains was elected as an Executive Board Member of the Sikh Cultural Society New York in the year 1990 and then he was made Vice President of this Society as well during the following term.

During his after-job hours, he has been devoting his time to his local community services. He used to work as Recording Secretary of Community Council 102 Pet up to the year 2000-2002 and then as a Member of Queens Community Board 8 since the year 2002 to the present, because of his dedicated community services Mr. Bains got Proclamation from New York City Council for Community Involvement in celebrating South Asian heritage 2003 and received the Proclamation from the City Council for Leadership Qualities July 2004.

Mr. Jagir S Bains was selected to represent his local Sikh community at the International level too. He was a Member of the Sikh delegation from the United States who met with POPE JOHN PAUL II and the Vatican staff for inter-religious affairs during celebrations of 400 years anniversary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on Sept Ist 2004. He was also a delegate to the Queens Borough President's General Assembly in the year 2004 and then he represented the Sikh community at Holocaust Center on Oct 25 2005 about the suffering of Sikhs throughout centuries and their survival under the Mughal rule.

As a devoted Sikh member, Mr. Bains has been coordinating in organizing the Sikh Day celebrations every year in the New York City Hall. He presented a paper at the Queens Borough President's General Assembly about the Importance of turban and uncut hairs in the Sikh religion in Dec 2005. He also volunteers himself for helping people in need, about religion, responsibility, teaching young children, and learning from older generations.
