Shailesh loves to wear Jodhpuris, enjoys all the mouth-watering delicacies from jodhpur, and visits the Saraswati temple at Ajari near Sirohi. An avid reader of newspapers, he loves to speak in Rajasthani dialects and proclaims his Marvari connection wherever he goes.

Mr. Lodha’s Passion for creativity was his biggest asset which gave him hope and direction to follow his heart. His sharp wit and immense love for poetry become evident when he was in grade five and started writing poetry. At the age when Kids of his age played carom and cricket, Shailesh wasted no time in realizing what he wanted to do and started performing. His first public performance was at a very young age of eleven years and since then there was no looking back on his creative genius. It was appreciation all around for young Shailesh who was sharing the stage as a balkavi with eminent poetry stalwarts like Balkavi Bairagi, and Surendra Sharma. Growing up, further, he continued to pursue his master’s in management.
The irony of an artist’s life is that what is appreciated the most is compensated the least. So apart from his shows he had to pick up a job to earn his daily bread & butter. In search of a better prospect, Mr. Lodha moved to Jodhpur in 1991 and apart from his stage performances, started working for a pharmaceutical company.
Beginning of the Writer Career
Writing came as naturally and easily to him as taking candy from a child. Mr. Shailesh Lodha has written four books. Starting in order the first two were satirical humor, the third was a self-help book co-written with his wife, and his most recent book is Diljale Ka Facebook Status, again a different experiment to connect with his audiences.
The Poetic Journey started with his first collection titled “Toh Mat Padho Meri Kavitayein” which came out in 1995 followed by a poetry collection by his wife Swati and Shailesh together which was a unique assortment where two poets wrote in their own styles on the same themes.
Another brilliant piece was the” Come on! Get Set Go…” book written by the duo together in the year 2002 which won “ Rashtriya Rajbhasha Puraskar” and was translated into more than ten languages. A remarkable achievement for an artist of his stature is that Shailesh has become the only poet-anchor on Indian television that has shot more than 1000 episodes of Hindi poetry for different national electronic channels.

Talent knows no limits; it’s a saying which fits well with this gentleman, he tried something other than the league and proved his versatility. His “comedy with cause” performances in “comedy circus” and “comedy ka mahamuqabla” have made him a Stand-up comic who provides value-based family entertainment.
Today Mr. Lodha has Become a household name with SABTV’s Superhit daily comedy serial “ Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma” His satires and humorous works have delighted people throughout the world. As an anchor of WAH-WAH,” he has anchored more than 170 episodes of Wah Wah. “Wah-Wah” and “Kya Baat Hai”, his poetry shows were watched especially by poetry lovers. Presently, he is the content director and anchor for “WAH-WAH Kya Baat Hai” on SAB TV.

Mr. Lodha has been felicitated with numerous honors in his career like, “ Best Actor” at Gold Awards 2012, Best comic Actor” at ITA Awards 2011, Vimlesh Samman (2011), “Tepa Samman”, Suryadatta National Award”, “ Jansampark Alankaran (2005)”, Rajasthan Gaurav Award by Rajasthan Association of North.
The Rajasthan Connection
Shailesh was born on November 08, 1969, in Jodhpur city, Rajasthan. His mother Smt. Shobha Lodha and his father Shri Shyam Singh Lodha worked with the child welfare Department- Government of Rajasthan, familiarising and deepening his bond with his motherland. Shailesh saw the rural life from close quarters as he moved frequently with his parents from where he completed his graduation. Hailing from a small town this man knew in his heart that he will make it big in life.
