Our Legacy
Deep in the heart of South India lies the busy metropolitan of Hyderabad, rich in history, heritage, and culture. It is here, in this city, that Seth Sri Shiv Narayan Ji began his journey in jewellery crafting.

To create the Nizam’s many masterpieces, Sri Shiv Narayan spent many hours nurturing his love of the craft.
His sons joined the trade soon after creating masterpieces for the general populace after the expulsion of the royal families. As the industry grew and expanded, we remained a family business, driven by endless passion and an obsession to create unseen wonders.
The brand evolved at the hands of Mr. Kamal Kishore Agarwal and Mr. Tushar Agarwal, the current Chairman and CEO of the company. Together, they strive to reclaim the profound legacy of the family with royal, vintage jewellery reimagined for the modern world.

Bharat Gaurav Mr. Shankar Kularia - Businessman
The seed of a small entrepreneurial operation Was Sown in a tiny village Of Rajasthan called Mulwas Seelwa in 1960. Nurtured with care, resilience and ambition, it has bloomed today into India’s premier workplace interiors behemoth. Padam Interiors caters to global Fortune 500 companies, led by its dynamic MD Shankar Kularia. The road from an interior hamlet in Rajasthan to India’s commercial capital Mumbai, is not an easy one. Nor is it a short one. Shankar Kularia has walked this road with measured steps, concrete goals and a road map etched with the ink of integrity. He stands today at the helm of the Padams Group, flanked by his two brothers Kanaram Kularia and Dharam Kularia. Together they steer a global business that prides itself not just for the stellar services provided to bluechip clients across world, but also for the ethical business values and loyal human networks that are built along the way. Mulwas Seelwa in Nokha Rajasthan was where the family patriarch Sant Shree Padamaram jee Kularia Suthar set up a carpentry enterprise. His business acumen was fueled by Shankar and his brothers in 1995, who swiftly transforming their father’s vision into a business that has redefined India’s workplace interior fit-outs industry, with a presence in all Indian metro and tier 2 cities. The Padams Group of companies, led by Shankar Kularia, undertakes architectural interior works and turnkey projects across market segments from banking, aviation, IT, financial, healthcare and hospitality, retail and residential real estate sectors. It has crossed the 1000- crore turnover mark to become India’s front runner in the workplace interiors fit-out business.
“We don’t juSt create SpaceS, We build cOnnectionS and mOuld cOnSumer experienceS. At PadamS, technOlOgy is uSed suppOrt Our human asSetS,
nOt replace it.”
Shankar Kularia, MD PadamS GrOup.
Padam. The Sanskrit word for lotus, symbolizes purity and wisdom. The Padams Group, named after the family head Sant Shree Padamaram jee, has acquired a rock-solid reputation for high-end quality service delivered in an ethical and timely manner, by a team of exceptional professionals. This ethos stems from the Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shankar Kularia, the recipient of many awards for his exemplary leadership like the AsiaOne Award in 2022, the Zee Business Award in 2021, for blazing a business trail that has brought success not just to the company but to every stakeholder. While Forbes magazine has called Kularia ‘the face behind India’s workplace interior industry’, his unflinching service to the community has not gone unrecognized by the Government of India. He was given the Bharat Gaurav Award year 2022, followed by the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Award in 2023 where he was felicitated by the Home Minister for his work in the promotion of animal welfare. Perhaps inspired by the human ingenuity that native Rajasthani architecture personifies, Shankar has turned his legacy of organic desert wisdom into integral company policy. Making the most of limited resources, for instance, is inherent to every desert dweller, and has become a non-negotiable at Padam group of companies As is the use of innovation that embraces both nature and tradition. This is the mantra for the sustained growth that the Padam Group has clocked year after year.
Community before Commerce. A community that is content, overcomes adversity to thrive financially, physically and emotionally. It is with the blessings of the community that Shankar believes that he has been able to steer the Padams Group to never-before heights. His commitment to this community remains steadfast. The upward curve on a human face has always been prioritized over the upward curve on the company sales graph. Padams stand by every single individual that makes up the 10,000 strong people network, including suppliers, partners and customers. Rural community development is a key focus area, with active engagements in education, social awareness, health and animal welfare. Distance and heat have been a detriment for the girls in the Nokha area to attend school, which is miles away. A sprawling school for girls, with digital climate control is under construction at Dawa Mulwas, the Padams family base. Not only will this social initiative change the lives of the village girls, its architectural style attempts to revive traditional craft and harness indigenous labour, while being climatically contextual. The Padam Smarak or the Community Center at Mulwas Seelwa is another example of Shankar’s incredible ability to fuse tradition with function and form. Conceived as a hub for learning, bonding and artistic expression, this award- winning architectural marvel made from locally sourced sandstone,
amphitheater, library incorporates rainwater, recycling systems, minimizing its environmental footprint while initiating the locals into modern water conservation techniques. Hospitals across the state of Rajasthan have flourished under the philanthropic care of the Padams Group and its leader, Shankar Kularia. What started as a massive Covid aid rollout has continued over the years and brought both medical technology and talent to the facilities. Animal shelters and tree plantations are two other areas that have been actively supported across the state by the Kularia family, making their community circle a truly holistic and inclusive one.
Bharat Gaurav Mr. Neil Khot - CEO & Founder Rely Services
Neil Khot is the President, CEO, and Founder of Rely Services. A professional services firm that provides outsourcing solutions to the commercial and government sectors, Rely is headquartered in Illinois — with a global presence in Chicago, Dubai, and Pune. Founded on an ethos of efficiency, Rely streamlines clients’ operations through project management, account management, and IT — and boasts an impressive list of repeat clients.
Neil founded Rely Services in 2002 after uncovering an opportunity to provide best-in-class outsourced services. A former technology & systems consultant for professional services firms, Neil was accustomed to partnering with offshore teams. However, he felt that these engagements could be managed more efficiently–the impetus for Rely Services. Rely Services’ client list now boasts Marriott, Carnegie Mellon University, the State of Illinois, and many more.
Over the past twenty years, Neil has built and scaled Rely from a one-man startup to an ecosystem of four businesses (Rely Services, Barrington Plaza Realty, Sociale Dispensary, and Rely Ventures). The Rely ecosystem spans a presence in three countries (U.S., India, and UAE), millions of dollars in annual revenue, dozens of team members, and thousands of clients.
In addition, Neil’s time outside of work has been focused on creating new opportunities for Indian-Americans and amplifying the greater AAPI community. He is the Co-Founder of Chicago’s Federation of Indian Association and National Chair of the Indian American Business Coalition (IABC). During his tenure as the National Chair of IABC, he recruited thousands of members, held large-scale networking events that allowed members to make meaningful professional connections, and partnered with state and national lawmakers to advance business-focused legislation.
Prior to co-founding Chicago’s Federation of Indian Association, there was no dedicated space for Indian-Americans to build professional relationships. As a minority, Neil understands the feeling of being “othered” — so creating this community was of utmost importance. He also had the great honor of receiving Cook County’s Asian Pacific Islander Heritage award twice (in 2019 and 2020) due to his continued advocacy. Most recently, he was honored as the AAPI Person of the Year by the Village of Hoffman Estates, IL; Schaumburg, IL; and Oak Brook, IL.
In the next stage of his career, Neil is focused on sharing his expertise with the world and empowering the next generation. Bharat Gaurav Mr. Chaman Lal Bhalla - Entrepreneur
Mr. Chaman Lal Bhalla’s journey from a hopeful entrepreneur to a cornerstone of Paris’s culinary scene encapsulates a tale of resilience, familial dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Born in Mandi Bahauddin, Punjab — a region torn by the upheavals of the India-Pakistan partition — Chaman Lal Bhalla’s family fled to India, settling in New Delhi. Here, amidst the challenges of displacement, they faced financial constraints and a significant loss of social status. Yet, these early adversities forged a resilience in young Chaman Lal, fueling a determination to restore his family’s dignity and standing. From a young age, he balanced his academic pursuits with work, understanding that both education and practical experience were crucial to overcoming the hardships his family faced. He tirelessly juggled his studies with various jobs, contributing to the family income while still attending school. This period of his life was not just about academic learning but also about gaining real-world experience that instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility. These qualities would later become the cornerstone of his entrepreneurial ventures and successes.
In 1973, Mr. Bhalla arrived in Paris with dreams of expanding his textile and garment business from Delhi. Despite initial setbacks, including language barriers that hampered his efforts, he persisted. His breakthrough came in 1976 when he secured a substantial order for 15,000 shirts, setting a foundation for his future ventures in the French capital.
Mr. Bhalla’s entrepreneurial journey took a significant turn towards the culinary world when he, along with two colleagues, noticed the success of a local Indian restaurant. Inspired, they opened their own restaurant near Rue de Louvre, which quickly became a popular spot among Parisians and tourists alike. This experience sparked the idea that would grow into a family-run restaurant empire.
In 1982, the opening of Tandoori in Montparnasse marked the beginning of the Bhalla family’s prominent presence in Paris’s restaurant industry. Over the years, their portfolio expanded to include multiple establishments, such as the prestigious Ashiana in Neuilly-sur-Seine (1985) and another in Montparnasse (1987), renowned for their authentic Indian cuisine and warm, inviting ambiance.
His restaurants became cultural hubs, attracting celebrities and dignitaries from both France and India, including French politicians like Nicolas Sarkozy, Indian leaders such as L.K. Advani, French singer Patrick Bruel, and Indian cinema stars like Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
Despite the demanding nature of his business, Mr. Bhalla’s success would not have been possible without the unwavering support of his wife, Veena Rani Bhalla. While he built his empire abroad, Veena Rani managed their household in India, ensuring a nurturing environment for their children and maintaining the family’s well-being. Her support allowed him to focus wholeheartedly on his business, knowing his family was in good hands.
Furthermore, driven by a spirit of exploration, he opened an Italian restaurant, Au Soleil Italien, around 2005 in Porte de Champerret and continued to innovate with new locations like Ratn near the Champs-Elysées in 2006 and another Ashiana at Ternes in 2016. Today, they are being managed by the family; the children as well as the grandchildren.
Mr. Bhalla’s commitment to cultural advocacy extended beyond his restaurants. He was a founding member of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) in France, which played a vital role in promoting Indian cultural and social interests abroad. Through GOPIO, he facilitated numerous initiatives that enriched the cultural dialogue between the two nations.
Today, his legacy is a testament to the successful fusion of French and Indian identities. His life’s work highlights how cuisine can serve as a powerful medium for cultural expression and integration. His restaurants do more than serve food; they weave together the fabrics of two distinct cultures, creating a rich mosaic that celebrates the best of both Indian and French traditions.
As we reflect on Mr. Bhalla’s remarkable journey, we see a vivid illustration of how dedication, coupled with a passion for one’s heritage, can transcend boundaries and foster mutual appreciation and respect between diverse communities.
