Sanjay Sharma is a distinguished community leader, educator, and Multicultural Cricket Ambassador appointed by Cricket Australia. Based in Canberra, he is the Founder and Director of the Indian Australian Multicultural Sports Association (IAMSA) and the Founder of Yerrabi District Cricket Club (YDCC). Through his leadership, he has played a pivotal role in using sport as a platform to promote inclusion, cultural harmony, and community engagement.
A passionate advocate for multiculturalism, Sanjay has successfully organised numerous high-impact events, including the Multicultural Cup at Manuka Oval, which brings together diverse communities and celebrates unity through cricket. His initiatives have created opportunities for youth, women, and underrepresented groups, including programs supporting Afghan girls and grassroots junior cricket development.
Beyond sport, Sanjay has made significant contributions to community welfare, organising free health and physiotherapy sessions, supporting families during bushfires and COVID-19, and raising funds for charitable causes such as the McGrath Breast Cancer Foundation.
Professionally, he is a dedicated mathematics teacher at a government college in Canberra, where he continues to inspire and mentor students.
