Nivedita Saha is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Dubai, with extensive practice spanning different methodologies and forms.

Born in 1972, in Maharashtra, India, Nivedita acquired a BFA from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai, in 1996. After her bachelor’s, she spent over two decades working in Commercial Arts (Advertising & Communication), years later completing her Masters in Social Sculpture and Connective Practice from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.

In 2002, she moved to the Middle East where she found her true calling: Fine Arts. Gaining support to pursue this calling, she followed her passion for seeking a foothold in the art world both locally and on a global scale. Researching and experimenting with various mediums and methods of art evolved into a way of life for Nivi to this day. Her body of work expresses her inner thoughts and visions. She believes in stimulating positive social change in the world through her artistic practice, especially in the area of women empowerment.

Her profound interest and understanding of Mythology, Culture, and the Impacts of Faith led her to travel and share ideas across the borders of Kazakhstan, Germany, England, Malaysia, the United States, Portugal, and India. She connected with these regions through performances, art calls, collaborative projects, biennales, and art residencies.

Her prime focus involves research on ‘Impacts of Ancient culture and traditions on the current Social Landscape.’ She works by asserting herself in thought-provoking social mobilization projects with the sole aim of creating work that encourages positive shifts in the world.

Some of the significant milestones in her artistic career began with Exhibitions, artist residencies, and projects under the patronage of the Dubai Culture Council, The Embassy of India-Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Culture & Heritage initiative, United Nations Headquarters New York, Fringe Arts Bath (FAB) – UK, Gallery of City Museum of Aveiro, Portugal, Penang State Art Gallery and Museum and Oxford Brooks Modern Art, England. She has been awarded ‘The Bharat Sanskriti Yatra Samman’ for her contribution to Indian Art and Culture in the UAE region.

Artist Nivedita Saha is married to Mr. SubratoSaha – Director at AquaChemie GT and is currently based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates with her family. She operates from her Art atelier, ‘Art Studio Meraki’ – a space for interdisciplinary artistic practice and collaboration.
